Prashant Kumar is Vice President, Data & AI at MSCI. Across a decade and four organizations, he has owned the enterprise AI stack end to end — governed content, entitlements, the agent platform, its economics, and how any of it reaches the people it was built for. Those five things are the five seams of this book.
Along the way, he spent years watching the same failures in other people's organisations: at Deloitte, leading AI transformation across banking, pharma, consumer goods and agri-commodity, and at IBM, building cognitive systems back when the technology was still called that. Eight sectors, and the recurring discovery that the model was almost never the problem.
His first venture, before any of it, was a preventive-healthcare startup — and his first lesson in the difference between building something and getting somebody to use it. That lesson is Chapter 7.
He holds an MBA from IIM Mumbai and lives in Bangalore.
